In most available markets JUVA is seeking to partner with operators who want to own and operate several units. The minimum commitment we require is 2-5 units within 5 years. Due to specific market conditions, in some areas the minimum commitment may be higher than others.
Yes. In international markets we seek franchise relationships with well-established foodservice or specialty retail companies with existing operations, management and resources to develop the JUVA brand in the entire country. Becoming a JUVA operator requires a minimum liquid capital of $350,000 in the form of cash, or securities that can be quickly converted to cash.
The initial investment for building a traditional JUVA unit in the U.S. is estimated between $130,400 to $319,500. These totals include an initial franchise fee of $25,000 for a traditional store. JUVA also offers smaller formats and kiosks for non-traditional venues, which can be developed at substantially lower costs.
The franchise fee is $25,000 per unit, for a traditional unit. In a multi-unit development agreement we collect one-half of the franchise fee for all the units upon signing of the agreement and the other half for each unit before opening.
JUVA can assist you in financing by introducing you to lenders who are familiar with our business and specialize in franchise financing.
In the U.S. royalties are 6% of net sales for 3 or less traditional units, and 5.5% for 4 or more traditional units. Marketing fees can be up to 4% of net sales and are currently (as of the date of our current FDD) 2%. Please see FDD for more detail on royalties and marketing fees for non-traditional units.
Finding the right location for your JUVA unit is one of the key factors that drive the success of your business. We can help you by identifying and approving trade areas that we believe fit our requirements. Once you have identified the right trade area, local commercial real estate brokers can then help you find an available site. While you are ultimately responsible for finding the appropriate location for your JUVA unit, we will review and approve every site.
The ideal space for a traditional, in-line JUVA unit is 1,200 to 1,400 square feet. In addition, a minimum space width of 20 feet is necessary for an optimal unit layout. We also offer a kiosk concept for non-traditional venues that requires as little as 180 to 230 square feet (plus remote storage space).
In most cases, while we negotiate your multi-unit development agreement, we will create an exclusive territory for you to provide opportunities for growth.
JUVA requires that the franchisee, an operating partner, or a general manager designated by the franchisee attend an extensive six-week, full time, in-unit training program. This training program will teach you the day-to-day operation of your JUVA unit. In addition, our orientation program will explain in detail how you can leverage JUVA’s support center in areas such as marketing, real estate and development, IT and supply chain.

After signing of your franchise agreement, you will be in touch with your Region Franchise Manager who is responsible for directly supporting you. You can count on your RFM for operational input and best practices from our other JUVA units. In addition, your RFM will visit you regularly to ensure we are meeting your needs and that you are maximizing the potential of your business.On an ongoing basis, the JUVA Support Center will continue to drive the brand and support your efforts in areas of marketing, real estate and development, supply chain, and IT.
